The Screaming Eagles are a competitive marching band open to students in 8th through 12th grade who are districted for Middletown High School South.
The band is active at both school and community events and can be seen at pep rallies, football games, and local parades throughout the year. Show your Eagle Pride and become a member of the South band family today! What does it mean to be a competitive band? The South Screaming Eagles compete in Tournament of Bands marching arts competitions in group IIA. This means that we perform our show in front of judges on a regular basis and are ranked against other bands of similar size. Up to 20 bands can be at a competition! That means hundreds of other students just like you participating in the activity.
The band typically attends 5 competitions a year including Region and State championships. This means that we put a lot of work into our field show. The band has a 2 week training camp during August and then practices 2-3 times a week to prepare for halftime at football games and our competitions. Competitions typically take place on Saturdays with the occasional Sunday and can be all day events. |
